Although the set of Two and a Half Men is filled with beautiful women, Charlie Sheen's playboy character Charlie Harper always seems to take a back seat when it comes to commitment. At first, Charlie was married to his wife, Judith, but she ended up divorcing him after he slept with her sister (which Charlie claims was an accident). After the split, Charlie rented out his Malibu beach house to his younger brother, Alan Harper- and Alan brought along his son from his marriage to Judith. Even though Alan had been only separated from Judith briefly at the time- which is why he and his son moved into Charlie's house- Judith decided that she was finally ready for a divorce.

This is the first season to feature a new opening sequence since Season 6. On July 21, 2011, it was announced by CBS that Two and a Half Men will have a "new direction" following Charlie Sheen's dismissal from the show. Ashton Kutcher was hired to replace him the following season as Walden Schmidt, a billionaire who buys Charlie's house after his death.

The show has been nominated for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series and Alan Harper and Charlie Harper won the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 2009.

This sitcom revolves around three different families that are interrelated through Jay Pritchett, his son Mitchell Pritchett, and his daughter Claire Dunphy. The Pritchett's are being led by Jay, and he has a much younger wife named Gloria who has a pre-teen son named Manny. Claire is married to Phil Dunphy, and they have three kids together; Haley, Alex, and Luke. Last but not least there is Mitchell and Cameron Tucker who recently adopted a little girl from Vietnam named Lily. Together these three familes give us an honest and often hilarious look into the sometimes warm, sometimes twisted embrace of the modern family.
